Minister for Social Welfare Department makes surprise visit of offices within DAC Mangan
Mangan, June 2 (IPR):
Minister for Social Welfare Department, Government of Sikkim, Mr Samdup Lepcha made a surprise visit to various offices located within District Administrative Centre, Mangan, today.
The Minister was accompanied by Panchayat President, Ringhim Nampatam GPU Mr Sherap Bhutia, Councellor, Mangan Nagar Panchayat, Mr Tshering Pintso Saring, and other officers.
Minister Mr Samdup Lepcha interacted with the heads of offices and the staff working in various sections within the departments. He enquired about the status of manpower, infrastructure and issues that needed urgent attention.
The Minister also made strict note of attendance in each department and urged the heads of offices to ensure high level of discipline and accountability in the work place. He also called for ensuring cleanliness and upkeep of the offices and surrounding areas.
The Minister also addressed issues concerning shortage of manpower, delay in payment of honorarium etc and upgradation in the office space to comfortably accommodate all the staff members.
The Minister was also briefed about the need for construction of new toilets, as the current facilities are old and therefore structurally weak. The Minister made a note of it and assured early intervention.
Among the offices he visited today were Transport, Women Child Senior Citizen & Divyangjan Welfare, Rural Development, Pay & Accounts, Education, Forest & Environment, Agriculture, Fisheries, Horticulture, IPR, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, NIC, Social Welfare, Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, and PHE Single Window
