Date: 10-Mar-2026
Mangan, March 10 (IPR): The 28th year of the sacred Lama Gongdue Drupchen, a revered world peace prayer ceremony, is being observed at Ringhim Rikzing Choling Gumpa, Mangan, from March 6 to March 13, 2026.
Organised annually at the monastery, the week-long prayer ceremony is being conducted with the participation of nearly 300 monks, along with devotees from different parts of Sikkim. The ritual is performed with the objective of invoking blessings for world peace, harmony, and the well-being of all sentient beings.
The sacred ceremony was graced by Minister Mr Pintso Namgyal Lepcha today. He sought blessings from HE Zokhang Rinpoche and prayed for the well-being of all sentient beings.
The sacred Drupchen is one of the significant religious observances at the monastery and continues to draw large numbers of devotees each year. The ceremony involves continuous prayers, rituals, and traditional Buddhist practices led by senior monks.
The Managing Committee of Lama Gongdue Drupchen has appealed to devotees and the general public to participate in the prayers and seek blessings during the ongoing religious event. The committee is making necessary arrangements to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the ceremony.
The annual observance reaffirms the monastery’s role as an important spiritual centre in North Sikkim and highlights the deep-rooted Buddhist traditions of the region.
