Minister Reviews Publicity Arrangements for 2nd Aama Samman Diwas 2026 in Namchi
Namchi, 3 August (IPR): As part of the preparations for the forthcoming 2nd Aama Samman Diwas 2026, scheduled to be held at Bhaichung Stadium, Namchi, on 10 August, the Minister for the Women, Child, Senior Citizens and Divyangjan Welfare Department (WCSC&DWD), Mr Samdup Lepcha, visited the District Information Centre, Namchi, today to review and strengthen publicity arrangements for the State-level celebration.
During the visit, the Minister urged the Information and Public Relations Department, Namchi, to ensure extensive dissemination of information relating to the event through various digital media platforms, to create greater public awareness and encourage widespread participation.
He stated that this annual event, envisioned by the Chief Minister of Sikkim Mr Prem Singh Tamang, is a heartfelt initiative dedicated to honouring mothers for their immeasurable contributions to their families and society.
He further stressed that the essence and message of 2nd Aama Samman Diwas should reach every household across the State, inspiring people to recognise, respect and celebrate the unconditional love, selfless sacrifices and invaluable role of mothers in shaping families, communities and the future of society.
The Information and Public Relations Department, Namchi, reaffirmed its commitment to providing all necessary support to ensure effective publicity and the timely dissemination of information, thereby contributing to the successful observance of the 2nd Aama Samman Diwas 2026.
The Minister was accompanied by Secretary,Ms Normit Lepcha, Special Secretary Ms Bandana Rai, Joint Director Ms Tashi D Bhutia, Assistant Director, Mr Arjun Pradhan, Welfare Officer (Namchi) Mr Shyam S Pradhan of (WCSC&DWD), District Information Officer (Namchi) Ms Deepti Pradhan,along with staff of the Information and Public Relations Department, Namchi.
