Minister Raju Basnet Attends Finals of InterVillage Grand MLA Cup Recurve Archery Tournament
Pakyong, January 06 (IPR): MLA cum Minister of Education Department, Sports & Youth Affairs Department, Law Department and Parliamentary Affairs Department, Mr Raju Basnet graced the finals of the InterVillage Grand MLA Cup Recurve Archery Tournament, at Senti Archery Ground, Pakyong today.
Organised by Senti Youth, in collaboration with the Senti Archery Committee, aims to promote traditional sports and foster social development among the youth.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Mr Raju Basnet congratulated the committee for the successful conduct of the programme, while extending his best wishes for future endeavours.
The final match was contested between Chochen Norbu and Linkey United, wherein Linkey United emerged victorious, registering a win with a score of 64-26.
The Man of the Series was accorded to Mr Tshering Wangyel Bhutia, while the Man of the Match was adjudged to Mr Tashi Bhutia.
During the event, various cultural performances were also showcased, followed by a felicitation ceremony to honour the achievements and contributions of the Senti Ex-Archery Team.
The day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, during which cash prizes were also awarded to the winning team and the runners-up, respectively.
Also present were Zilla Panchayats; Panchayat Members; Headmaster, Aho Senti Secondary School, Mr Issac Lepcha; Social Workers, Mr Bhaichung Bhutia, Mr Bhusan Tamang, Mr Paul Rai, Mr Jigmee Bhutia; along with members of Ward Level Committee (WLC) and general public.
