Minister Mr Tshering T Bhutia hoists National Tricolour at SDM Office, Yuksam
Gyalshing, August 15 (IPR): Minister for Tourism & Civil Aviation and Commerce & Industries, and Yuksam-Tashiding MLA, Mr Tshering T Bhutia, hoisted the National Tricolour at the premises of the SDM Office, Yuksam, this morning in the presence of Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Mr Jesse P Targain, and officials of the Yuksam Sub-Division.
The ceremony marked the observance of the 80th Independence Day and included the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem and a Guard of Honour presented to the chief guest by personnel of the 72 Battalion SSB
In his brief address, Minister Mr Tshering T Bhutia extended warm Independence Day greetings to the people on behalf of the State Government. He paid tribute to the freedom fighters whose sacrifices paved the way for the nation’s independence and remembered the valour and sacrifices of the armed forces and border security personnel in safeguarding the nation. The Minister highlighted various developmental initiatives undertaken by the State Government for the welfare and progress of the people.
Among those present were Zilla Adakshya, Gyalshing, Mr Ds Limboo, Principal, Government Senior Secondary School, Yuksam, BDO Yuksam, Mr Sanman Subba, Gram Panchayat Members, officials of the Yuksam Sub-Division, students and other dignitaries.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by the SDM, Yuksam, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Deputy Director-cum-Revenue Officer, Mr Amrit Raj Rai.
Following the ceremony, the Minister, accompanied by dignitaries and officials, proceeded to Chojo, Khechuperi, to attend the Constituency-level Independence Day Celebration.
