Minister Mr Bhim Hang Limboo graces Pang-Lhabsol festival at Yuksam

Gyalshing, August 27 (IPR): Minister for Housing & Building and Labour Departments, Mr Bhim Hang Limboo, graced the seventh day of the ongoing Pang-Lhabsol (Neysol) festival celebration at Yuksam as the Chief Guest today.
OSD to Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Mr Nosang M Limboo, CLC President Mr Tashi Wangyal Bhutia, and OSD, Yuksam-Tashiding Constituency, Mr Basant Tamang, attended the programme as Guests of Honour. Also present were Government contractor Mr Gyalpo Lepcha, Zilla Panchayat member Ms Sabitri Rai, AD TIC Yuksam Ms Passang Doma Bhutia, Gram Panchayat members from various GPUs, local dignitaries and Government officials from Yuksam Sub-Division.
Upon his arrival, the Minister, accompanied by the dignitaries, was accorded a warm welcome by the organising committee and locals. He subsequently joined the ongoing puja ceremony at Thanggyallakhang, Norbugang, where he offered prayers before proceeding to the main stage.
As part of the eight-day Pang-Lhabsol (Neysol) festival celebration, two semifinal matches of the five-a-side futsal tournament were played today. In the first semifinal, Bhutia Boys defeated Nursing Himalayan FC 3–0 to secure their place in the final. In the second semifinal, Raw Local Gerethang defeated Ningwasoo Club 3-1. Bhutia Boys will face Raw Local Gerethang in the final of the five-a-side futsal tournament tomorrow.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Bhim Hang Limboo expressed his happiness at witnessing the State’s cultural and traditional festival being organised on such a grand scale. Highlighting the cultural significance of Pang-Lhabsol, he urged the people, particularly the younger generation, to remain aware of and actively preserve the rich culture and traditions of Sikkim. The Minister also highlighted various initiatives, welfare programmes and policies being implemented by the State Government for the development of the State and the welfare and upliftment of its people under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang-Golay.
Pang-Lhabsol, also known as Neysol, is a unique festival of Sikkim commemorating the consecration of Mount Khangchendzonga as the guardian deity of the State. The festival celebrates unity, peace, harmony and brotherhood among the people of the State and is observed annually.
The festival is being organised by the Pang-Lhabsol Festival Celebration Committee, Yuksam, under the chief patronage of Minister-cum-Area MLA Mr Tshering T Bhutia. The celebration is supported by the Khangchendzonga National Park Division of the Forest & Environment Department and the Tourism & Civil Aviation Department, Government of Sikkim.
Numerous cultural presentations and performances by students, local ethnic groups and various communities added vibrancy to the event.
The festival, which commenced on August 21, will conclude on August 28 with the final of the futsal tournament, cultural programmes and a musical night. Minister for Tourism & Civil Aviation Mr Tshering T Bhutia is scheduled to attend the concluding event as the Chief Guest.
