Message of Hon'ble Chief Minister on the occasion of Teacher's Day

Date: 05-Sep-2021
On the occasion of Teachers Day, I extend my best wishes to all the teachers of India for their dedication and contributions in guiding the children who are the leaders of tomorrow.
Today, we remember and honour the second President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who played a major role in shaping the academia of India and was a teacher himself.
Teachers are the building blocks of our lives and play an important role in shaping the students. Their contributions extend beyond the boundaries of the educational institutions as they nurture our future generations, assisting them to be responsible citizens and leaders of tomorrow. The responsibilities fall in the hands of the teachers to observe the interests, hidden talents of the students and hone them. Next to parents, it is the teachers whom the students look up to and are the crucial component of the learning process.
The COVID-19 pandemic caused difficulties for everyone, including the teachers and the students. The state government has initiated online classes which have assisted in the continuation of education and learning. The recent decision regarding the creation of a separate Sikkim Telecom will further boost the facilities of digital education and smart learning in the state.
I urge our teachers to build a solid bond of understanding with the students to promote a healthy learning environment and boost their confidence. The application of research-based methods and alternative techniques in teachings are also important. In this regard, I urge our teachers to explore such avenues to provide a quality learning experience.
The state government is focused on providing the best form of training and exposure to the teachers by conducting visits to various educational institutions in the country and abroad. Due to the pandemic, the program is on hold but will commence once the situation is favourable.
On this day, let us pay our respects in honouring the contributions of all the teachers who have left a lasting impression on us and are one of the reasons behind who we are today.
I also take this moment to extend my hearty congratulations to Shri Mingma Sherpa and Shri Prem Das Chettri for being chosen for the prestigious National Teachers Award 2021May be an image of 1 person and standing
