Mangan observes Shramdaan Diwas with mass cleanliness drive at District Administrative Centre
Mangan, September 25 (IPR):
As part of the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign 2025, a mass cleanliness drive was conducted today at DAC Mangan to mark Shramdaan Diwas.
The Shramdaan Diwas is part of the directive issued by Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang during the state level launch of the campaign on 19th September, 2025. The cleanliness drive reflects the vision to ensure effective implementation of Swachhata Hi Seva campaign across the state and mobilise collective efforts towards achieving the campaign’s objectives. As part of the initiative, Shramdaan Diwas was observed today from 8am to 9am simultaneously in all government establishments across the district.
Organised by the Rural Development Department Mangan, the nodal department for the implementation of the campaign, the cleanliness drive had the participation of ADM Mangan Mr Pema Wangchen Namkarpa, ADC (Development) Mangan, Dr Sonam Rinchen Lepcha, SDM Mangan Mr Sandeep Kumar, Heads of Offices and staff of various departments within the DAC.
The key focus areas of Swachhata Hi Seva campaign include:
• Transformation of Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs): Identification, mapping, and time-bound
clearance of difficult and dirty spots in public and institutional areas.
• Clean Public Spaces: Ensuring General cleanliness in establishments, institutions, and high footfall areas through coordinated efforts.
• SafaiMitra Suraksha Shivirs: Organisation of single-window camps for preventive health
checkups and linkage of sanitation workers with welfare schemes.
• Clean Green Utsav: Promotion of eco-friendly and zero-waste celebrations in sync with the
festive season.
• Advocacy Activities: Campaign initiatives such as Swachh Sujal Gaon, Waste to Art, Clean
Street Food, and operationalisation of RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) centres.
In the district, Shramdaan Diwas was observed in various government offices including Block Level Offices, Government Schools, Community Health Centres, Primary Health Centres, and Gram Panchayat Kendras.
