Mangan celebrates 77th Republic Day with Patriotic Fervour

Mangan, January 26 (IPR): The 77th Republic Day was observed at District Administrative Centre Mangan today with zeal and patriotic fervour.
The district level event was graced by Minister, Social Welfare; Women, Child, Senior Citizen & Divyangjan Welfare; and Printing & Stationeries Department cum MLA Lachen Mangan constituency, Mr Samdup Lepcha, as the chief guest.
The Chief Guest unfurled the National Flag, after which the National Anthem was played and a Guard of Honour was presented at the District Administrative Centre, Mangan.
The programme commenced with the welcome address by BDO Mangan, Mr Kailash Thapa, followed by cultural programmes showcasing national integration through patriotic songs and dances by the students of PM SHRI Mangan Senior Secondary School and My Bharat Dance group.
At the outset, District Collector, Mangan, Mr Anant Jain, read out the Republic Day message conveyed by the Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Mr Om Prakash Mathur, highlighting the significance of the occasion, and reflecting on the developmental strides made by Sikkim in the past year.
Subsequently, Sub Divisional Magistrate (HQ) Mangan, Mr Sandeep Kumar read out the Republic Day message of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sikkim Mr Prem Singh Tamang.
The Chief Guest, Mr Samdup Lepcha, in his address, began with a brief overview of the significance of Republic Day. He spoke about the various welfare initiatives undertaken by the government for the benefit of the people, including the distribution of incentives and the continuous efforts to strengthen several departments. He further stated that the government would focus on the improvement and reconstruction of old roads to enhance connectivity. In his concluding remarks, he congratulated all the individuals who were felicitated for their dedicated service and outstanding contributions.

The programme successfully concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Additional Director, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services Department Mangan, Dr. Dechen O Kaleon.
The District level event was compered by District Coordinator, Mangan, Ms Pramila Deokota.
