Mangan District shines at National Level Bhanu Jayanti Celebration held in Soreng
Mangan, July 10 (IPR): The student participants of Lachen Mangan Constituency under Mangan District have brought laurels to the district by winning the Inter-constituency level Ramayan Path Competition held at Soreng on the occasion of the ongoing 212th National-Level Bhanu Jayanti Celebration 2026. The event is being organised under the theme, “Bhasa Sahitya Bikas Abam Jatiya Sadhvawana.”
The students performed in the presence of an illustrious audience comprising Culture Minister Mr GT Dhungel, MLA Soreng Chakhung, Mr Aditya Golay, senior officers, noted literary personalities and cultural icons, and a host of other dignitaries and invitees.
The Ramayan Path Competition was judged by an expert panel comprising Mr Durga Kharel, Ms Daisy Baraily and Ms Dawa Gyalmo.
While Lachen Mangan Constituency (Mangan District) won the competition, the second and third positions went to Temi Namphing Constituency (Namchi District) and Namcheybong Constituency (Pakyong District) respectively.
It is to be mentioned that the District Level Ramayan Path Competition was organised in the month of June under the direction and guidance of the District Collector, Mangan District, Mr Anant Jain, who headed a Committee comprising senior officers of the Education Department and other line departments. A total of twelve participants from three different schools under Lachen Mangan Constituency were selected from the district level competition and sent for the National Level Competition at Soreng. Under the guidance of the Committee, the entire arrangements for the preliminary rounds of the district-level event were held under the leadership of the Coordinator, Education Department, Mangan District, Ms Pramila Deokota.
Students from different schools of Mangan District participated enthusiastically in the selection process.
After careful evaluation by a panel of four judges comprising Ms Pramila Deokota( Coordinator, District Education Office), Mr. Dinesh Sapkota (Sanskrit Teacher, Mangan Girls’ SSS), Mr. Ramesh Kaflay (GT Nepali, PM SHRI Mangan SSS) and Mr. Kinga Sherpa (Incharge Ringhim SS), the following students were selected to represent Mangan District at the State Level Ramayan Path Competition where the maximum permissible strength was ten participants, with two students kept on standby.

The students were accompanied and guided by escort teachers Ms Nim Doma Tamang and Ms Sarika Subba.
The selected team represented Mangan District at the State Level Ramayan Path Competition held on 9th July 2026 at Soreng, where they were adjudged the winners. They will now be performing the Ramayan Path during the National Level Bhanu Jayanti Celebration on 13th July 2026 at Soreng.
The District-level Committee has thanked and acknowledged the active role of everyone involved at various levels of the competition.
