Mangan District Observes International Day of Yoga 2026
Mangan, June 21 (IPR): International Day of Yoga 2026 was observed with pride and enthusiasm at the conference hall of District Hospital Mangan today. The Yoga event was organised by the Department of AYUSH, Mangan District, under the global theme, "Yoga for Healthy Ageing ".
The yoga session was conducted by Ms. Renamit Lepcha of Tsalung Sound Healing and was open to all residents of Mangan District. The session was attended by District Collector Mangan Mr Anant Jain, SP Mangan, Mr LB Chettri, SDM Mangan, Mr Sandeep Kumar, Chief Medical Officer Mangan, Dr Anita Bhutia, ASP Mangan Mr Bijoy Subba, heads of Offices & Officials from departments; students from Government Girls Senior Secondary School Mangan, members from Dream Dance Academy Mangan, and local residents.
On the occasion, a yoga session as per the common yoga protocol was conducted, with participants engaging in various yoga asanas aimed at promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and healthy ageing.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Mangan, Mr. Anant Jain extended his greetings to all on the occasion of International Day of Yoga 2026. He emphasised the importance of adopting yoga as a regular practice, highlighting its role in promoting not only physical well-being but also mental health and overall wellness.
He stated that yoga helps individuals remain mentally active, focused, and resilient in their daily lives. Urging students and the younger generation to actively participate in yoga activities, he encouraged them to incorporate yoga into their daily routine and make it an integral part of their lifestyle for a healthier and more balanced future.
Likewise, the International Day of Yoga was organised simultaneously in different locations in the district.
