Mangan Beneficiaries Receive 1000 Litre Water Tanks and Poly Pipes Under Welfare Initiative

Mangan, August 29 (IPR): The beneficiaries from Singhik-Sentam GPU and Ringhim-Nampatam GPU under BAC Mangan were provided with water tanks and poly pipes under the Social Welfare Department at the Fire Office Complex, District Hospital Road, Mangan, today.
The distribution programme was graced by Minister Social Welfare Department Mr Samdup Lepcha as the chief guest. The event had the august presence of Chairman, Sikkim Welfare Commission, Mr Nim Tshering Lepcha, OSD, Lachen Mangan Constituency Mr Tshering Wangyal Bhutia, Panchayat President Ringhim Nampatam GPU Mr Sherab Bhutia, panchayat members, Welfare Officer Mr Ganesh Thapa, BDO Mangan Mr Kailash Thapa, other dignitaries and officials from the Department of Social Welfare and BAC Mangan.
The programme began with a welcome address by Welfare Officer, Mr Ganesh Thapa, who warmly greeted the dignitaries and briefed the attendees about the purpose and significance of the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Mr Samdup Lepcha emphasised that the Government is committed to bringing about positive change in the lives and livelihood of the people of Sikkim. He said that today’s event was a testimony of the care and concern of the government towards the people of Lachen Mangan constituency and North Sikkim at large. He added that every eligible beneficiary would be covered under the various welfare schemes and urged everyone to patiently wait for their turn.
Following his address, the Minister distributed water tanks and poly pipes to the beneficiaries, while power weeders were also handed over to the progressive farmers. Each GPU had 90 beneficiaries.
The distribution programme not only ensured equal opportunities for the beneficiaries but also reflected the government’s continued commitment towards rural welfare and agricultural development.
