Local Entrepreneurs Shine at District Exhibition-cum-Sale in Namchi
Namchi, 29 November (IPR) : District Industries Centre, Namchi, under the Commerce & Industries Department, Government of Sikkim, organised a District Level Exhibition-cum-Sale for local entrepreneurs at Central Park, Namchi.
The two-day exhibition, scheduled from 29th to 30th November 2025, commenced today with the inaugural ceremony graced by MLA Namchi–Singhithang and Chairman (DACS), Mr Satish Chandra Rai, who served as the Chief Guest.
Following the inauguration, the Chief Guest, accompanied by officials, visited all the stalls and interacted with local, aspiring, and emerging entrepreneurs. He offered words of encouragement and assured continued support to help them advance in their entrepreneurial pursuits.
The event is being organised under the aegis of the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MoMSME). The initiative primarily focuses on enhancing awareness, facilitating exhibitions, and providing training opportunities for entrepreneurs.
This year’s exhibition featured 30 stalls and saw participation from 60 local entrepreneurs, each showcasing a diverse range of products. The programme also included an open-mic session, offering a creative platform for the public to share their talents, which drew enthusiastic participation.
The exhibition aims to identify new and aspiring entrepreneurs with innovative products and to provide them with further training in packaging, product development, and hand-holding support to enhance market readiness and sales.
The event was attended by Advisor (Panchayati Raj) Ms Rama Tamang, Chairman (OBC Welfare Board) Mr Hukum Chandra Rai, Chairperson (Food Processing Industries Department) Ms Kala Pradhan, Vuce-Chairman (NMC) Ms Sabitri Tamang , Director (MSME) Mr Ravi Kumar, General Manager (C&ID) Mr Prakash Rai, Inspectors from C&ID, and other dignitaries.
