Khangchendzonga Winter Tourism Festival 2024 Enters Day Two with Vibrant Celebrations
Gyalshing, December 26(IPR):The Khangchendzonga Winter Tourism Festival 2024, organized by Pelling Tourism Development Association in collaboration with the District Administration, Gyalshing and 14-Singyang-Chombong GPU, Blue Rings Society, Pelling, continued to captivate attendees on its second day at the school ground of PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School, Pelling.
The day's proceedings were graced by the presence of Mr. Tashi Wangyal Bhutia, CLC President of Yangthang Constituency as the Chief Guest and Mr Ganga Pd. Dahal, Retired Senior Accounts Officer, as the Guest of Honour in presence of Minister-cum-Area MLA, Mr Bhim Hang Subba along with the Zilla and Gram Panchayat Members, Officials and other dignitaries.
The second day featured an exhilarating Futsal competition. The first match saw Karki Cottage triumph over Mamba Boys, while the second match concluded with NCDS securing a victory over Sinalchu Tikjuk. In the third match, Magpie Boys emerged victorious against Friends Circle 'A'. The final match of the day witnessed Brother Hood FC (Sardung) defeating Kishor Brothers to secure their spot in the next round.
Adding to the festive spirit, vibrant cultural performances showcased the rich traditions and cultural heritage of the region, leaving the audience spellbound.
Various stalls exhibiting traditional clothing, ethnic attires, local cuisines, beverages, and antiques provided a vivid glimpse into the cultural and artistic diversity of the area, further enhancing the festival's charm.
The Khangchendzonga Winter Tourism Festival 2024 will continue to serve as a platform to celebrate and promote the cultural vibrancy and tourism potential of the region until December 31, 2024.
