Intra-Sikkim Volleyball Tournament Rabong 2025 Kicks Off with Enthusiasm at Rabong New Market
Rabong, April 4, 2025 :
The much-anticipated Intra-Sikkim Volleyball Tournament 2025, organized under the aegis of the Discover Rabong Cho-Dzo Fest 2025, officially commenced today at Rabong New Market.
The inaugural event was graced by the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Area MLA Shri Riksal Dorjee Bhutia. Other dignitaries in attendance included Smt. Teny Doma Bhutia, Chairperson of the State Women’s Commission, Shri Basant Yonzon, former Namchi District Youth Convenor of the SKM Party, Shri Wangyal Sherpa, SDM of Ravangla, Shri Gopal Gurung, CLC President of 09-Barfung Constituency, Hon'ble Zilla Ms. Anjana Sharma, and various Panchayat Members.
The tournament began with high energy and a strong sense of sportsmanship as the first match saw a thrilling face-off between Team Tanak and Team Yangang. In a closely contested match, Team Yangang emerged victorious, winning by a 3-2 scoreline. The excitement continued with the second match, where Team Hathi Dunga went head-to-head with Team Namchi. Team Namchi claimed the win with a commanding 3-0 victory.
The Discover Rabong Cho-Dzo Fest 2025, which celebrates the region's rich culture, nature, and sports, is officially set to run from April 11-16. Among the highlights of the festival is the inaugural Chief Minister’s Gold Cup Open Volleyball Tournament, a first-time event that promises to add to the festivities.
The event has already united the community with its exciting opening matches, setting the stage for more than two weeks of competition and cultural celebrations.
