ICDS Centres Within Namchi District Commemorate World Environment Day, 2026
Namchi, June 5 (IPR): On the occassion of World Environment Day, 2026, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Centres, under Women, Child, Senior Citizens & Divyangjan Welfare Department, within the district of Namchi, commemorated the day with cleanliness and plantation drives today.
The plantation drives were carried out under the aegis of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative, where fruit tree and flowering plant saplings were planted in and around the premises of the centres.
Accordingly, ICDS Centre, Ahlley, Tek, co-located with Government Primary School, Tek, witnessed the participation from the Headmaster, Mr Chandra Kumar Pradhan, along with the school teaching & non-teaching staff members and the students.
The day saw active participation from CDPO (Namchi) Mr Laxuman Tamang, CDPO (Jorethang) Mr Prabin Silal, ICDS Supervisors, Aganwadi Workers, Aganwadi Helpers, Multi Tasking Office Assistants and the students across all of the ICDS Centres.
