Bermiok, 29 Aug (IPR): In continuation of the ongoing Gram Panchayat Unit level meeting in Gyalshing Bermiok constituency, Hon’ble Minister-cum-Area MLA, Shri Lok Nath Sharma, met the people of Bermiok Berthang GPU at Village Administrative Centre of Bermiok Berthang in West Sikkim today.

People from six different wards including Bermiok, Bermiok Daragaon, 13th Mile Sumbok, Upper Berthang, Rungdu Berthang and Ratomatey Thangsing met the Minister individually and put forth their grievances and social demands.

The Minister was accompanied by Block Development Officer, Hee Martam, Shri Mukesh Dahal, Joint Director, Horticulture Department, Shri Karma Sherpa, Assistant Engineer/Roads & Bridges, Shri RD Lepcha, Assistant Engineer, Hee Martam BAC, Shri R.B. Shilal, Block Officers and other officials from line departments.

The Minister, in his address, called for cooperation and unity amongst people to achieve common objective of socio-economic growth of entire GPU. He also articulated motivational examples and encouraged farmers to adopt agriculture, horticulture, floriculture, goattery, dairy farming, etc. as a lucrative profession for sustainable income. He also assured to sought out solutions to address genuine issues of the locality on priority.

The Minister also urged concerned officials to release bills only after finding satisfactory completion of the sanctioned work. He also informed that the State Government under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) has allocated required fund for the salary of employees appointed under One Family One Job scheme and advised them to follow directives to deliver their duty with utmost sincerity.
