Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi in his third address to the Nation concerning Covid-19, has requested the people of India to switch off the lights of their houses at 9pm on the 5th of April, 2020 ie. Sunday, and step out on the balcony or outside their door with lit candles/torch light/mobile flash light or diyas for 9 minutes as a symbolic gesture to reinforce the message that all Indians are collectively fighting Covid-19.

He has however appealed to the people to maintain social distancing and all necessary precautions during the process.
