Gyalshing District Conducts Training Programme for EROs, AEROs, BLO Supervisors and BLOs
Gyalshing, November 5 (IPR): A one-day training programme for Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), Booth Level Officer Supervisors and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) was conducted today at the Conference Hall, Zilla Bhawan, Gyalshing. The programme was organised as per the directive of the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Sikkim, in connection with the forthcoming house-to-house field verification for the mapping of electors of E-Roll 2002 and their progeny under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme.
The District Election Officer-cum-District Collector, Gyalshing, Mr Tenzing D Denzongpa, graced the occasion and addressed the gathering, emphasising the significance of accurate and comprehensive voter mapping to ensure a transparent, inclusive and credible electoral process. He urged all officials and field functionaries to execute their assigned responsibilities with diligence and integrity, thereby upholding the sanctity of the electoral database.
The training was aimed at equipping the field officers with detailed operational guidelines, procedural updates and technical know-how for the effective implementation of the Special Intensive Revision exercise.
Resource persons from the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Gangtok , Mr Himmat Rai Joint Secretary (Election Department) and Mr Zangpo Gyaltshen Bhutia, Joint Director (IT Department), delivered an extensive PowerPoint presentation, offering comprehensive guidance on data verification, procedural protocols and the use of relevant forms and digital tools.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion wherein participants shared field-level insights and sought clarifications on operational aspects to ensure uniform implementation across the district.
The programme was attended by Mr Suresh Rai ERO-cum-ADC Gyalshing,Mr Pulkit ERO-cum-SDM (HQ), Mr Sandesh Subba ERO-cum-SDM Gyalshing, Mr Garap Dorjee Bhutia AERO-cum-BDO Gyalshing,Mr SM Limboo AERO-cum-BDO Yuksam,Mr Kailash Gurung AERO-cum-BDO Hee-Martam,Mr Wangdi T Bhutia AERO-cum-BDO Dentam,Ms Kidem Bhutia OS (Election Department) Gyalshing and other officials and staff of the District Election Cell.
