Gyalshing District Conducts One-Day Training Programme for First Phase of Census 2027

Gyalshing, March 12 (IPR): A one-day training programme for Charge Officers and Additional Charge Officers for the First Phase of Census 2027 was held today at the Conference Hall of the District Administrative Centre (DAC), Gyalshing.
The training programme was conducted in the presence of the District Collector-cum-District Magistrate, Gyalshing, Mr Tenzing D Denzongpa, along with Ms Tripti Hangma Subba Additional District Collector, Mr Sandesh Subba SDM Gyalshing.
The training session was attended by all Charge Officers, Additional Charge Officers and their Assistants from various departments of Gyalshing District.
Addressing the gathering, the District Collector reviewed the provisions of the Census Act and cautioned that any unprofessional conduct by officers could result in serious consequences. Emphasising the importance of the census, he stated that its outcomes have a direct bearing on the development planning for future generations and urged all officers to remain vigilant and ensure the error-free conduct of census operations.He further highlighted that this will be the first time the census is being conducted through digital means, marking a significant step towards modernising the data collection process.
The objective of the training programme was to brief the officers about their roles, responsibilities and procedures for conducting the first phase of Census 2027. The session also covered the guidelines, data collection process and coordination mechanisms required to ensure that the census activities in the district are carried out smoothly, systematically and accurately.
During the programme, Mr Pratyush Pratap Singh, Statistical Investigator Grade-II, and Mr Gourav Adhikariy, Statistical Investigator Grade-II, delivered detailed presentations through PowerPoint on the operational aspects of the first phase of the census. They explained the core concepts, definitions and operational methodology of the Houselisting and Housing Census (HLO), which marks the first phase of the Census of India 2027.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion, during which various queries raised by participants were addressed by the resource person, ensuring preparedness and clarity among officials for the smooth and
successful conduct of Census 2027.
