On the auspicious occasion of Saga Dawa, Hon’ble Governor of Sikkim, Shri Ganga Prasad has extended warm greetings to the people of Sikkim.
Hon’ble Governor said, “Among the holiest of the festivals of our Buddhist brethren worldwide, Saga Dawa commemorates three important events in the life of Lord Buddha i.e. Birth, Enlightenment and Nirvana. The spiritual perspective and way of living as enshrined in Buddhism has given a new hope and light to mankind. The ideals of truth, non-violence, brotherhood and harmony among all sentient beings has been the guiding light for peaceful coexistence of mankind. It has remained in the core of our national identity and has shaped our destiny as a country over centuries.
May the teachings and ideals of Lord Buddha remain the guiding force in our lives till eternity. Let us pray together on this auspicious day and strive forward collectively on the path of truth, righteousness and non violence, transcending beyond caste creed, gender, religion and nationality
