Gangtok District Records 99.63% EF Distribution Under SIR 2026
Gangtok, June 18 (IPR): Gangtok District has further strengthened its performance under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026, with the distribution of Enumeration Forms (EFs) reaching 99.63 percent as of today.
According to the latest district status report, 1,21,783 Enumeration Forms have been distributed across the district against a total electorate of 1,22,240. The district has also achieved 53.20 percent digitisation of Enumeration Forms, with 65,028 forms digitised so far.
BLOs continue to conduct extensive door-to-door outreach to ensure comprehensive electoral coverage. Special focus is being placed on senior citizens, Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), and electors residing in remote areas to facilitate their participation in the revision exercise.
The constituency-wise distribution of Enumeration Forms is as follows:
16-Tumen-Lingi: 16,682
17-Khamdong-Singtam: 14,491
23-Shyari: 16,292
24-Martam-Rumtek: 17,719
25-Upper Tadong: 12,307
26-Arithang: 12,191
27-Gangtok: 11,962
28-Upper Burtuk: 15,979
32-Sangha: 4,160
Among the constituencies, digitisation progress has been particularly notable in 24-Martam-Rumtek (64.57%), 16-Tumen-Lingi (63.06%), 32-Sangha (61.86%), 23-Shyari (60.43%), and 28-Upper Burtuk (58.82%).
The report further indicates that 64,624 Enumeration Forms have been verified by BLOs, accounting for 52.87 percent of the forms distributed, reflecting steady progress in the verification process. The house-to-house distribution, digitisation and verification activities by BLOs will continue till June 28, 2026, with efforts underway to achieve complete coverage under SIR 2026.
