Four aspiring MBBS students to be fully sponsored: Chief Minister

Gangtok, September 27 (IPR):
Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang-Golay met four aspiring MBBS students at Mintokgang today.
It was informed, that the students were able to secure MBBS seats at the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Medical Sciences (SMIMS). However, despite their unwavering commitment and dreams of becoming doctors, financial hardship threatened to halt their journey.
In light of this, and as part of the Government’s continued efforts to uplift deserving students, the Chief Minister shared that the education of these students would be sponsored in full—covering tuition fees, hostel expenses, and other necessary utilities.
“We believe that financial constraints should never stand in the way of talent and ambition, because when we invest in the dreams of our youth, we invest in a brighter tomorrow for us all,” he expressed.
The names of the students are as follows:
1. Pooja Chettri d/o Damber Singh Chettri, resident of Upper Deythang, Barfung constituency.
2. Tanisha Mangar d/o Lal Bahadur Mangar, resident of Karzi, Yuksam-Tashiding constituency.
3. Hissey Dorjee Bhutia s/o Dawa Tshering Bhutia, resident of Rinchenpong constituency.
4. Ashit Chettri s/o KB Chettri, resident of Dodak, Daramdin constituency.
