First Phase of Home Voting concludes in Gyalshing District

Gyalshing, April 8(IPR): The final day for the first phase of home voting in the Gyalshing district was successfully concluded and received at the Postal Ballot Strong Room situated at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Kyongsa.
The initiative of the Election Commission of India (ECI), allows Senior Citizens ( AVSC)) aged 85 and above, as well as those with PwDs (AVPD) 40% and above disabilities, to vote from home, using postal ballots.
A total of 10 Postal Ballots for the Assembly Constituency and Parliamentary Constituency were received by Nodal Officer for Postal Ballot:
01 Yuksam-Tashiding:01 Home Voter and
04 Gyalshing -Barnyak:09 Home Voters.
Three Postal Ballot facilities were sent out to assist with home voting covering both the Assembly and Sikkim Parliamentary Constituencies. A dedicated team, including Sector Magistrates, Polling Teams, a videographer, police personnel and a micro observer closely monitored the entire process. They were even briefed on ECI guidelines and instructed to ensure the integrity and accessibility of the provided facility while exercising their democratic right through Home Voting.
