First Phase of Census 2027
Gangtok, April 1(IPR): The first phase of Census 2027 was launched by the Ministry of Home Affairs in collaboration with the Directorate of Census Operations, Sikkim, at Samman Bhawan, today
The programme had the presence of Chief Minister, Mr Prem Singh Tamang.
Director, Directorate of Census Operation, Mr Karma R Bonpo, in his address, highlighted the self-enumeration programme under the first phase of the Census 2027. He expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for his support and stated that the exercise is a national initiative, the data from which will be instrumental in policy formulation and scheme planning. He further emphasised that the data collected will serve as the foundation for policies framed by both the Centre and the State. He also urged the public to extend their cooperation and informed them about the online portal, se.census.gov.in
