Gangtok, April 4 (IPR): The results for the uncontested seats for Sikkim General Municipal Elections 2026 under the Gangtok District were declared today, subject to the submission of Form 21 by the withdrawing candidates to the Municipal Returning Officer-cum-District Collector, Mr Tushar G Nikhare.
The results of uncontested seats under the Gangtok Municipal Corporation (GMC) are as follows:
1. Mr Ongden Bhutia from Ward No. 01 – Bhojoghari 2nd Mile (Scheduled Tribe), SKM Party
2. Mr Nell Bahadur Chettri from Ward No. 02 – Upper Burtuk (State OBC), SKM Party
3. Mr Tashi Chopel Lepcha from Ward No. 03 – Lower Burtuk (Scheduled Tribe), SKM Party
4. Ms Jashu Jairu from Ward No. 04 – Lower Sichey I (Scheduled Caste) (Women), SKM Party
5. Ms Puspa Rai from Ward No. 05 – Lower Sichey II (Lingding) (Central OBC) (Women), SKM Party
6. Ms Aruna Chettri from Ward No. 06 – Upper Sichey (State OBC) (Women), SKM Party

Ward no. 17-Panihouse remains uncontested.

5. Mr Suresh Kr. Tamang from Ward No.05- Chisopani (Scheduled Tribe), SKM Party
The candidates received the Certificate of Election (Form 47) from Municipal Returning Officer-cum-DC Gangtok Mr Tushar G Nikhare, in the presence of Election Observer, Mr Basant Kumar Lama, and the Assistant Municipal Returning Officers.
It maybe noted that all polling stations for Ward no. 10-Diesel Power House will be held at Paljor Namgyal Girls Senior Secondary School. The polling day is on 24.04.2026 and the results will be declared on 25.04.2026.
