Final Day Visit of Central Nodal Officer for Jal Shakti Abhiyan Concludes Successfully at Soreng
Soreng, January 7 (IPR): The two-day official visit of the Deputy Secretary, Government of India, and Central Nodal Officer (CNO) for the Post-Monsoon Review under Jal Shakti Abhiyan, Mr Himanshu Gowat, concluded successfully at Soreng today.
During his briefing, the Central Nodal Officer appreciated the effective implementation of various Central Government schemes in the state by the concerned departments. Referring to Soreng as an Aspirational District, he commended the district administration for its efficient performance and progress. He further assured that the Central Government would continue to extend support for the overall development of the district. The CNO also specifically highlighted and appreciated the roof water harvesting initiatives undertaken by the Forest Department.
During the visit, the Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr Jacob Khaling, interacted with the Central Nodal Officer.
As part of the field visit, the CNO inspected the Roof Water Harvesting project at Chumbung GPU, Ward No. 1, and the Amrit Sarovar at Deythang GPU, Ward No. 1.
The visit was attended by District Collector, Soreng, Mr Dhiraj Subedi, ADC Mr DR Bista, ADC (Development) Mr Gaayas Pega, Scientist-B-cum-Technical Officer, Mr Anoop Tiwari, Panchayat Presidents and Panchayat Members, DPO (Zilla) Mr Kumar Subba, DE (WRD) Mr Bikash Chettri, AE (Zilla)-cum-Senior Technical Officer Mr Kamal Sharma, RO (WL) Mr Krishna Dahal, along with engineers and officials from PHE, WRD, and BACs.
