Field Investigators Training for the upcoming PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024
Pakyong, November 26 (IPR): The District Education Office, in collaboration with State Project Office, Samagra Siksha, Education Department, organised a one-day training programme for field investigators for PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024, at the Rurban Community Hall, Pakyong, today.
The PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan is a national-level large-scale assessment conducted to obtain information about the learning achievement of students in Grade 3, Grade 6 and Grade 9, and is going to be conducted on December 4, 2024 across the nation.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Narayan Mishra, Chief Education Officer Incharge, Pakyong District, underscored the significance of the large-scale national survey to comprehensively evaluate the progress of learners across the foundational, preparatory, and middle stages. He further advised the trainees to actively participate and be attentive during the training session to conduct a smooth assessment process.
The training session was facilitated by Mr Laxuman Adhikari, AD Samagra Siksha cum State Level Master Trainer (SLMT) and Mr Kuldeep Sharma, Lecturer SCERT cum SLMT wherein they focused on equipping the trainees with necessary skills and knowledge to effectively conduct the upcoming survey.
During the training, various topics were discussed, including the roles and responsibilities of FI, assessment design, survey material, packing instructions, sealing process and dispatching of survey material.
Additionally, emphasis was also placed on the process of section and student sapling before the assessment, further providing them with a clear explanation of the procedures related to both the section and student evaluations as per the guidelines.
Furthermore, the participants are also informed that the survey also delves deeper into understanding learning conditions by collecting contextual data through Teacher Questionnaires (TQ), School Questionnaires (SQ), and Pupil Questionnaires (PQ).
At the onset, Mr Kailash Sharma, Assistant District, DEO Pakyong cum District Level Master Trainer (DLMT), underlined the key aspects of the PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024. He explained that this program is specifically designed to evaluate schools as holistic units, placing emphasis on the overall well-being and effectiveness of the education system within each district. He further elaborated that the assessment was conducted through pen-and-paper mode using OMR technology to ensure accurate and efficient data collection.
Likewise, the participants were provided with hands-on training on filling out sheets as per the norms, which was followed by an interactive session wherein participants put forth their queries, which were effectively addressed by the officials.
The training process also had the presence of Mr PR Sharma, Principal Pachey Senior Secondary School cum Resource Centre Observer, Pakyong District; Mr Kamal Acharya, SLMT along with officials from Education Department and trainees.
