Enumeration Form Distribution Under SIR 2026 Reaches 24,888 by Third Day in Gangtok District
Gangtok, June 1 (IPR): The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of Electoral Rolls is progressing steadily across Gangtok District, with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) continuing the distribution of Enumeration Forms through house-to-house visits to ensure comprehensive coverage of all eligible electors.
As per the status report on the third day of the exercise, a cumulative total of 24,888 Enumeration Forms have been distributed across the district, covering 20.36 per cent of the total electorate. The ongoing exercise is being carried out under the directions of the Election Commission of India to facilitate the verification and updation of electoral records and ensure the preparation of an accurate and inclusive electoral roll.
The constituency-wise distribution of Enumeration Forms is as follows:
16-Tumen-Lingi – 3,798
17-Khamdong-Singtam – 4,334
23-Shyari – 3,695
24-Martam-Rumtek – 5,096
25-Upper Tadong – 1,964
26-Arithang – 1,620
27-Gangtok – 2,367
28-Upper Burtuk – 1,629
32-Sangha – 385
Gangtok District has a total electorate of 1,22,240 electors, with the revision exercise being carried out through 182 Booth Level Officers deployed across the district.
The Enumeration Forms are being distributed to electors for verification and updating of details such as name, age, address, photograph and EPIC particulars. BLOs are also assisting electors in completing the forms and addressing queries related to the revision process.
The distribution and collection of Enumeration Forms will continue till June 28, 2026. Electors may also submit their duly filled forms to the concerned BLOs within the stipulated timeline.
The District Election Office has appealed to all eligible electors to extend their cooperation to the BLOs and actively participate in the revision exercise to ensure that the electoral roll remains accurate, updated and inclusive.
Political parties are also supporting the exercise through their Booth Level Agents (BLAs), contributing towards transparency, accuracy and wider public participation in the electoral roll revision process.
