End of two-day International Literary Festival
Gantok, October 27 (IPR):
The second and closing program of the two-day International Literature Festival-2024 organized by Pari Prakashan Soreng concluded today at the meditation centre of Gangtok
As the assembly president of the program, Naradamani Hartamchhali, Chancellor of Nepal Lalitkala Pragya Pratishthan was present. Hon'ble Chief Minister of Sikkim Government Mr. Prem Singh Tamang had a dignified presence in the program as the chief guest. He was accompanied by former MLA Mrs. Krishnakumari Rai, dignitaries of Sikkimal including India and Nepal.
President of fairy publication Mr. C. P. Sharma informed that under construction town hall in Soreng district under the direction of Chief Minister Mr. Prem Singh Tamang will be completed soon and then the publication program will be held in Soreng itself. He welcomed the guests of Nepal and India and welcomed everyone present in the auditorium. He also informed about various magazines and books published by Pari Prakashan. He spoke about the book launched today covering the introduction of all the writers of Sikkim, now he informed that no of his creator's works should go to the readers for free. He said additionally clarifying why the publication program was held on October 1st, the Gandhi Jayanti program is held on October 2nd every year, the thought that the establishment day of publication should be remembered on October 1st. Pari Prakashan also informed that it would be easier to know the numbers of all Sikkim literary organizations.
Then there was a poetry recitation presentation by students of Soreng, Sombare and Tharpu in the group/Dhamari style poetry competition.
Books of various creators published by Pari Prakashan were launched in the program. Along with this, the collection of poems written by poet Prem Singh Tamang, "Rebels born by injustice" translated by Samten Dorji Lepcha in the Lepcha language. Translator Samten Dorji Lepcha was welcomed in the program with garland of chief patron from Karakamal while Pari Publications also congratulated chief patron Chief Minister Mr. Prem Singh Tamang.
After that, guest poet of Nepal Krishna Prasai and Dinesh Adhikari had recited poem while Soreng Sikkim's poet Ms. Ranjana Karki also recited poem.
The fairy prize initiated by the fairy publication was awarded to two creators this year. Addressing the program, Chief Patron Chief Minister of the program Mr. Prem Singh Tamang expressed his pleasure to be present on the fourth foundation day of the publication. The first year there was a regional level program in Soreng, then all the creators of Sikkim were honoured for organizing the state level program in the year-2020 and the publication to congratulate all literary organizations this year.
