Electrician Domestic Solution Training Programme Launched at Government Livelihood School, Dentam
DENTAM, SIKKIM — June 9: A comprehensive training programme on “Electrician Domestic Solution” was launched on 8th June 2026 at the Government Livelihood School, Dentam.
This specialised technical course is being conducted by the State Institute of Capacity Building(SICB), Skill Development Department, Government of Sikkim, under the Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PMAJAY), a flagship umbrella scheme of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Sikkim, and the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
The primary objective of this livelihood-oriented programme is to enhance practical skills, encourage self-employment, and generate sustainable socio-economic opportunities for local youth.
The inaugural programme was attended by local administrative officials, community leaders, and departmental representatives, including:
• Shri Dinesh Gurung — Mangmoo Begha Territorial Zilla Panchayat Member
• Shri Mahindra Gurung — President, Mangmoo Dentam Panchayat
• Shri C.K. Chettri — Assistant Director, State Institute of Capacity Building (SICB)
• 30 selected beneficiaries from the target community enrolled in the training programme
The initiative reflects the Government’s continued commitment towards strengthening skill development and empowering youth through employment-oriented training interventions.
