Electoral Roll Observer Reviews SIR Progress in Kabi, Mangan
Mangan, August 10 (IPR): The Electoral Roll Observer for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls for Mangan District, Mr Tushar G. Nikhare, paid a visit to Kabi in Mangan District today to review the progress of the SIR exercise under 29-Kabi Lungchok Assembly Constituency. This was the Electoral Roll Observer's second visit to Mangan District to oversee the ongoing SIR process.
The Observer was received by the SDM-cum-ERO, 29-Kabi Lungchok AC, Ms Monika Rai, along with BDO-cum-AERO, Kabi; AEROs and BLO Supervisors at the Conference Hall of BAC Kabi.
During the review meeting, detailed reports on the various stages of SIR undertaken under the constituency were presented to the Observer.
Interacting with the Booth Level Officers (BLOs), the Observer encouraged them to share their experiences, difficulties and suggestions encountered during the revision exercise. He instructed the BLOs to maintain proper and secure records of all communication with the public, including registers, WhatsApp messages, audio and video records.
The BLOs were further directed to refer complicated cases to the higher authorities for appropriate guidance and necessary action. They were also instructed to strictly verify the submission of Form 6 applications by persons whose names had been deleted during the SIR process.
Emphasising the importance of adherence to electoral norms, the Observer directed the officials to remain vigilant and follow all prescribed procedures, particularly regarding enrolment in Sangha AC.
He also urged the officials to encourage eligible persons who have come to India from foreign countries to apply for Indian citizenship through the online portal of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), wherever applicable.
The Electoral Roll Observer congratulated the 29-Kabi Lungchok team for successfully completing the Notice and Hearing process before the stipulated timeline and appreciated their efforts towards ensuring a systematic and timely electoral roll revision process.
