EXPENDITURE OBSERVERS VISIT OFFICE OF DISTRICT ELECTION OFFICER
Soreng, March 21(IPR): Mr Srikanth N, the Expenditure Observer (EO) for Soreng district for the General Election, 2024 arrived at the district on March 20, 2024 and met with the DEO and other Officers today here at the District Administrative Centre conference hall.
He was warmly welcomed by Ms Yishey D Yongda, DEO cum DC Soreng, Mr Dhiraj Subedi, Deputy DEO cum ADC Soreng along with the Nodal Officers of the Election Expenditure Monitoring Committee and the team.
During the interactive session, Ms Yishey D Yongda gave an overview of the district followed by the election preparedness in the district.
The EO was briefed about the number of FSTs, SSTs, VVTs, AEOs and the accounting team engaged with the elections for the district. In his interaction, the EO highlighted many critical aspects of monitoring and verifying accounts/ expenditure of the political parties. He reiterated the importance of gathering physical evidence through photographs and videos as a support document against any claim made by the candidates and their team. He also highlighted the challenges and situations that can arise during the election period. He hoped for cooperation and dedicated efforts from the officials in conducting error-free elections.
