District-Level Pre-Subroto Cup International Football Tournament 2026 Commences in Namchi
Namchi, July 11 (IPR) : The district-level competitions of the 65th Edition Pre-Subroto Cup International Football Tournament 2026 commenced today at Bhaichung Stadium, Namchi, under the aegis of the Sports & Youth Affairs Department, Namchi District.
The tournament has brought together 31 schools from across the district, comprising 14 schools in the Under-17 Boys category, 7 schools in the Under-15 Boys category, and five schools in the Under-17 Girls category. The event aims to provide a platform for young footballers to showcase their talent while promoting football at the grassroots level.
The tournament is being conducted in a knockout format across the three categories. The Under-15 Boys final is scheduled to be held on 15 July 2026, while the Under-17 Boys and Under-17 Girls finals will be played on 16 July 2026 at Bhaichung Stadium.
The champions in each category will represent Namchi District at the State-Level Pre-Subroto Cup International Football Tournament 2026, to be held in Gangtok.
Present during the event were Ms T Ongmu Bhutia, Additional Director, S&YA Department; Mr Basant Pradhan, Dy Director, S&YA Department; ADs and officers from line departments, teachers and the public.
