District-Level Arm Wrestling Championship 2024 held at ITI College Gyalshing
Gyalshing,October 28 (IPR):
Government Industrial Training Institute(ITI) College Gyalshing in collaboration with United Arm Wrestling Association of Sikkim with the theme "only the strong can claim the victory but it’s the will that makes a champion"hosted a successful District-Level Arm Wrestling Championship at the premises of ITI College Gyalshing,today.
The championship saw participation from various schools and colleges of Gyalshing District.The event featured several categories based on weight and age, ensuring a fair and competitive environment for all participants.
The day long event was graced by Mr Suren Limboo(Tamling)President Olympic Association of Sikkim accompanied by Mr Santosh Gupta gold-medalist International strength Lifting along with Ms Nickjay Lhamu Bhutia JD Sports and Youth Affairs Department,Mr Ganesh Kumar Limboo President-cum- executive member of united Arm Wrestling Association, teachers and students from nearby schools under Gyalshing district.
The Chief Guest expressed gratitude to the principal and the institute for their growth in admissions and placements.
Further,he added events like Arm Wrestling bring together enthusiasts and athletes from diverse backgrounds, fostering camaraderie, team spirit and community support.
Mr Bhim Bahadur Chuwhan Principal ITI College Gyalshing, expressed gratitude to all guests and the participants.He added the response to this championship event is to highlight the talent and enthusiasm within our community.
In his address he highlighted the institute’s recent successes, including an impressive job placement rate of over 80%, with graduates employed at places like Club Mahindra, Himachal Pradesh, Winstar Bangalore (iPhone manufacturing company)and Anvil Cables Private Ltd, Kolkata. Further,he added this year, the institute saw a record increase in admissions.
In the Arm Wrestling Championship,Mr Teja Man Chettri from Government ITI College Gyalshing and Miss Nunam Limboo from Sancha Man Limboo Government College Gyalshing-Aarigoun were awarded the titles of “Champion of the Champion” for men and women, respectively.
The event was hosted by Mr Chandra Hang Limboo Instructor ITI Gyalshing while Mr Yasup Biswa, Electrician Trade Instructor, proposed vote of thanks.
