District Road Coordination Committee Meeting Held in Namchi
Namchi, 7 April (IPR): The District Collector of Namchi, Ms Anupa Tamling, chaired a meeting of the District Road Coordination Committee (DRCC) at the District Administrative Centre, Namchi, today.
The meeting was convened to assess and review the condition of roads across the district and to address issues related to their maintenance and development.
During the meeting, the DC stated that the DRCC has been constituted to monitor road conditions, ensure regular review and accountability, and strengthen inter-departmental coordination on matters pertaining to roads.
Further, she reviewed the status and progress of ongoing road works and examined various issues and challenges raised by the concerned agencies. It was observed that a lack of coordination among different agencies has resulted in certain road stretches remaining in poor condition, necessitating immediate maintenance.
Emphasising the need for improved coordination, she urged all executing agencies to work closely with the District Administration while conducting surveys and inspections. This, she noted, would also help in effectively addressing public grievances.
In view of the approaching monsoon season, the DC directed all agencies to expedite pending works without delay and to ensure quality execution in order to minimise inconvenience to the public.
In conclusion, she appealed to all stakeholders to carry out their responsibilities with dedication, maintain their respective roads diligently, and prioritise quality workmanship in the interest of public welfare.
Among those present were the ADC (HQ) Mr Subash Ghimirey, SDM (HQ) Mr Nim Pintso Bhutia along with engineers and officials from various line departments and representatives from NHIDCL.
