District Level School Games 2025 Commence in Pakyong District
Pakyong, October 19 (IPR): The Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Pakyong District, organised District Level School Games 2025 to facilitate the participation of students in the upcoming State School Games at St Xavier’s Ground and Ark Academy Ground, Pakyong, today.
The programme was graced by Joint Director, Education Department, Mr Bhakti Sharma, who attended the event as the Chief Guest.
The selection trials were earlier conducted at the block level through inter-school competitions held across Pakyong District. The winners from these block-level events participated in today’s district-level competition, and the selected athletes will represent Pakyong District in the forthcoming State School Games.
The competitions were held under the under-16 boys and girls categories, featuring various events such as athletics, archery, basketball, kabaddi, kho-kho, table tennis, and taekwondo.
The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants who secured first, second, and third positions in their respective events.
Present during the event were Joint Director Mr Nim Dorjee Bhutia, Deputy Directors, Mr Legden Dorjee Bhutia, Mr Pintso Bhutia, Assistant Directors, Mr Robert Lepcha, Mr Bharat Lama, and Mr Manoj Gurung, along with officials and staff from the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Pakyong.
