District Level Monthly NCORD Meeting Held at Mangan
Mangan, February 25 (IPR): The monthly District Level NCORD meeting was held at the DC Chamber, DAC Mangan today under the chairmanship of SDM Mr Sandeep Kumar, along with SP Mangan Mr LB Chettri.
The meeting reviewed the roles of the concerned departments and areas where assistance was required. The importance of inter-departmental coordination for identifying and inspecting drug-prone hotspots was emphasised. Improving lighting in hotspots and setting up portable security booths at major locations were also suggested.
Referring to the recent apex-level meeting held in Delhi, the chair stressed the need to immediately prepare and implement the district anti-narcotic roadmap.
Departments were directed to carry out hotspot mapping, form special inspection teams and promote youth engagement through constructive activities. The SDM also informed that the extent of drug-free zones around educational and health institutions has been increased from 100 metres to 500 metres.
Reports on regular inspections, NDPS and SADA cases, enforcement of drug-free zones and awareness activities were presented by the concerned departments. The meeting concluded with a call for coordinated efforts to strengthen anti-narcotics measures in the district.
