District Level Meeting for National Panchayat Award Assessment 2024
Mangan, August 28(IPR): A District Level Meeting for the National Panchayat Award Assessment 2024 was chaired by District Collector-cum-Chairperson of the District Panchayat Performance Assessment Committee (DPPAC), Mr Anant Jain (IAS), today. The meeting, held in his chamber, focused on evaluating the performance of panchayats within the district.
Key attendees included the Additional District Collector (Dev) Mangan, Additional Director of Horticulture, Additional Director Animal Husbandry & VS, Joint Director Agriculture, DPO Divisional Engineer, US MDZP; DMS/DHM of Health Care Services, Dy Dir Education Department ,Welfare Officer S&WD; and the faculty from SIRD & District Panchayat coordinator and PI from RDD.
The meeting concentrated on the criteria and processes for the National Panchayat Awards assessment. Each department presented suggestions and insights to support a comprehensive evaluation of the district's panchayats. The discussions emphasised the importance of inter-departmental collaboration to ensure an accurate and fair assessment process.
Mr Jain In his address, encouraged all participants to work diligently towards achieving excellence in the district's panchayats. He emphasised the need for efficiency, systematic effort and a strong sense of responsibility, accountability and transparency among the officials.
The National Panchayat Awards 2024 are divided into two main categories:
1. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar:Recognizes the top three Gram Panchayats (GPs) under each of the nine award themes.
2. Nanaji Deshmukh Sarvottam Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar:Honours the top three GPs, Block Panchayats (BPs), and District Panchayats (DPs) with the highest average score across all themes.
Additionally, there are five special category awards.
The nine award themes are as follows:
1. Poverty-free and Enhanced Livelihoods Panchayat
2. Healthy Panchayat
3. Child-friendly Panchayat
4. Water Sufficient Panchayat
5. Clean and Green Panchayat
6. Self-sufficient Infrastructure in Panchayat
7. Socially Secured Panchayat
8. Panchayat with Good Governance
9. Women-friendly Panchayat
The meeting concluded on a note of commitment from all departments to work collectively towards achieving these prestigious awards.
