District Level Committee on the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Meeting Held in Pakyong
Pakyong, April 24 (IPR): A meeting of the District Level Committee on the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) was held today at the conference hall of the District Administrative Centre, Pakyong, under the chairmanship of District Collector Mr Rohan Agawane.
The meeting was attended by committee members, Additional District Collector (Development), Pakyong, Mr Sangay Gyatso Bhutia; Chief Education Officer, Pakyong, Mr Narayan Mishra; Divisional Engineer, Zilla Office, Mr Kailash Sharma; DE, PHE Department, Mr Rajen Gurung; DIO, IPR Department, Ms Deeki D Bhutia; ADO, Agriculture Department, Mr Gagan Gurung; Assistant Engineer, Water Resources Department, Ms Rinchen Tamang along with representatives from Social Welfare Department and NIC Pakyong.
The meeting was convened to deliberate on and approve final and ongoing bills under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
During the proceedings, the District Collector sought updates on the progress of works and the status of bills submitted under the mission, and reviewed the inputs provided by the concerned departments.
At the outset, ADC (Dev), Mr Sangay Gyatso Bhutia outlined the objectives of the District Water and Sanitation Committee and elaborated on the roles and responsibilities of the concerned line departments in relation to planning, execution and monitoring under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Discussions focused on the status of works under the Jal Jeevan Mission and procedural aspects related to the submission and processing of bills. The relevant departments placed bills for scrutiny, along with supporting documents, for verification.
After due consideration, the committee approved the submitted bills. These will now be forwarded to the Zilla Panchayat for further action regarding the release of payments in accordance with established procedures.
