District Collector Visits Flash Flood Affected Areas in Pakyong District
Pakyong, 27 June (IPR): Mr Agawane Rohan Ramesh, IAS, District Collector Pakyong, conducted a thorough visit to various areas affected by recent flash floods, including the relief camp at Latuk School under Chochen Pheri Latuk GPU today.
He was accompanied by ADC (Dev) Pakyong, SDM Pakyong, and officials from the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Divisional Engineer and Assistant Engineer.
During his visit, DC directed the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) to undertake immediate temporary restoration work at the Narey Khola Bridge along the Chochen Pheri to Latuk PMGSY road, which is currently in a vulnerable condition due to damage to its abutment.
Furthermore, he instructed NHIDCL to lay Hume pipes at Maltani Khola to facilitate road communication to the cut-off village of Thek Busty.
In addition, the DC emphasised the urgency of these measures to ensure the safety and connectivity of the affected areas and assured the residents of timely support and action.
