District Collector, Gyalshing Reviews Under-Construction Rehabilitation Centre at Rimbi

Gyalshing, October 06 (IPR): The District Collector-cum-District Magistrate, Gyalshing, Mr Tenzing D Denzongpa, reviewed the ongoing construction of the rehabilitation centre at Rimbi and visited the relief camp to review the arrangements and discuss measures for the rehabilitation of affected families today.
The District Collector-cum-District Magistrate was accompanied by OSD to the Chief Minister for Political Affairs Mr Karma Subba; OSD to area MLA Mr Basant Tamang; OSD Tourism Department Mr Mingma Lepcha; OSD to the MP, Mr Nosang Limboo; SDM Yuksam, Mr Jigmee Bhutia; Additional Director, Agriculture and Horticulture, Mr Karma Sherpa; Additional Director,  Food and Civil Supplies Department, Mr Arjun Rai; SE Power Department, Mr JP Subba; DE Power Department, Mr Kalzang Bhutia; DPO Mr Ganesh Rai; Principal ITI, Mr BB Chauhan; DIO IPR, Mr Rajen Tamang; Zilla Panchayat, Panchayat members and officials from various departments.
During the inspection of the under-construction rehabilitation centre, detailed discussions were held on the provision of essential facilities, including water supply, electricity and sanitation.
Considering the urgency of electricity requirements, the concerned officials were directed to expedite the electrical works, with manpower to be deployed as required to ensure that the construction work can continue during both day and night.
The Agriculture and Horticulture Department, Gyalshing, was directed to provide two water tanks with a capacity of 5,000 litres each.
Sanitation works will be undertaken by the PWD, including the construction of soak pits and washroom facilities.
The Power Department and ITI will undertake the electrification of the rehabilitation centre premises, while RDD BAC Yuksam will undertake works related to the septic tank and water supply.
Requirements related to ICDS facilities were also discussed.
The District Collector-cum-District Magistrate also emphasised the importance of local cooperation in carrying out the works. While masons and manpower may be brought in from outside as required, participation and cooperation from the local community will also be essential for the timely completion of the works.
The team subsequently visited the relief camp, where discussions were held on the permanent settlement of affected families. Particular emphasis was placed on identifying and allocating suitable land for families who have lost both their homes and land.
As per the assessment, a total of 33 families have been affected in Rimbi, while 8 families have been affected in Singlitam.
The concerned departments will commence the identified works from tomorrow, with immediate focus on ensuring electricity, water supply and sanitation facilities at the rehabilitation centre.
The coordinated efforts of the District Administration and concerned departments aim to ensure timely completion of the rehabilitation centre and provide affected families with essential facilities.
