Distribution of Aama Sashaktikaran and Aama Sahayog Yojana benefits across Pakyong District
Pakyong, September 17 (IPR):
As part of the state-wide distribution, cheques under the Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana and Sikkim Aama Sahayog Yojana were handed over to beneficiaries today across all the five constituencies of Pakyong District.
The Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana, notified in 2023 under the Women, Child, Senior Citizen and Divyangjan Welfare Department, provides annual financial assistance of Rs 40,000 to eligible mothers, released in two instalments through Direct Bank Transfer via the State Bank of Sikkim. The scheme covers non-working mothers who are unmarried, widowed, divorced, or separated between 18 and 59.
Implemented by the Rural Development Department (RDD), cheques under the Aama Sahayog Yojana scheme, which provides four free LPG refills annually for mothers in rural areas, reducing the financial strain of cooking fuel expenses and supporting cleaner, healthier households, were also handed over to the beneficiaries.
The distribution programme in Pakyong District was carried out as follows:
West Pendam constituency: The distribution was carried out by MLA West Pendam and Advisor for Land Revenue & Disaster Management, IT and IPR Department, Mr LB Das.
A total of 990 beneficiaries under the Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana and 100 beneficiaries under the Aama Sahayog Yojana from the following GPU received the cheques:
Central Pendam
West Pendam
Rangpo Nagar Panchayat
Also present at the programme were Zilla Panchayats, OSD to MLA and BDO Duga.
Rhenock constituency: The distribution was overseen by Advisor to HCM, Mr Bishnu Kumar Sharma, covering 1000 beneficiaries under the Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana and 40 beneficiaries under the Aama Sahayog Yojana, belonging to the following GPUs:

Chalamthang Pacheykhani
Taza
Amba
Rhenock
Tarpin
Present at the programme were Zilla Upadhyaksha, OSD IT Department, BDO Pakyong and CA to HCM.
Chujachen constituency: Cheques were handed over by OSD to MLA, Mr Damber Kumar Pradhan; OSD, Water Resource Department, Mr Gagan Gurung and BDO Regu, Mr Anil Giri , benefiting 1000 recipients under the Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana and 100 beneficiaries under the Aama Sahayog Yojana, belonging to the following GPUs:

Namcheybong constituency: The distribution was overseen by the Minister of Education Department, Sports & Youth Affairs Department, Law Department and Parliamentary Affairs Department, Mr Raju Basnet, covering 1000 beneficiaries under Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana and 93 beneficiaries under Aama Sahayog Yojana from the following GPUs:
