Gyalshing, 2nd July, 2020 (IPR): The District Hospital Gyalshing is now well equipped with the much awaited medical facilities for kidney dialysis. The Hon'ble Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr. M. K. Sharma officially inaugurated the newly established Dialysis Unit in special presence of the Hon'ble Deputy Speaker (SLA) Shri Sangay Lepcha, Minister-cum-Area MLA of Gyalshing Bermiok constituency Shri. Lok Nath Sharma; Minister PWD, Shri. Samdup Lepcha; Minister PHE, Shri. Bhim Hang Limboo; Minister Buildings and Housing, Shri. Sanjit Kharel; Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Shri Indra Hang Subba; Chairman State Bank of Sikkim, Shri D. B. Gurung; Dr. Pempa T. Bhutia, DG-cum-Secretary; Shri. Karma R. Bonpo DC West; Shri. Tashi Wangyal, SP West and other dignitaries.

The newly established Dialysis Unit within the District Hospital Gyalshing is comprised of five bedded unit along with the separate cabins for Doctors, Nurses, Isolation Room, Dialyzer Washing Room, Changing Room, Oxygen Plant and Reverse Osmosis Plant.

After the inauguration, a meeting was held at the conference hall of District Hospital Gyalshing. Health Minister Sharma expressed his happiness and congratulated the entire medical team for the new achievement of Dialysis Unit. Viewing the increasing numbers of patients of kidney dialysis, the State Government has initiated the genuinely required medical facilities and upgradation for basic medical services. Dr. Sharma also recalled the series of developmental works in District Hospital including the upgradation of services, improvement in basic medicine supply, establishment of life saving Blood Transfusion etc.
He also applauded the medical team of West Sikkim for working consistently, confidently and augmented capacity, which is also proven by recovery of eleven COVID-19 Positive cases from the District Hospital and further encouraged them to work more aggressively right from community level.

Minister-cum-Area MLA Shri. Lok Nath Sharma marked the establishment of dialysis unit as a remarkable achievement for the people of aspirational West District and the entire medical scenario as well. He also extended gratitude to the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Sikkim for the new development and congratulated the medical staff and the people. Further, he added that the present Government believes in work delivery and encouraged everyone to work collectively as a team. He also thanked everyone involved in the establishment of the Dialysis unit.
He mentioned that the State Government is always keen to help them so that their works can be better. He also mentioned that critial issues of health department will be worked upon on priority basis and resolved also.

CMO West Gyalshing, Dr. Anusha Lama briefed on the medical potential of the West District and anticipated to achieve status of inspirational district from aspirational district with relentless efforts and performance in near future. She further thanked the HCM and the State Government for their active role and support to the District Hospital Gyalshing.
