Gangtok, April 2 (IPR): Speakers and Deputy Speakers of Commenwealth Parliamentary Affairs (CPA) India Region Zone 3 have arrived here at a local hotel in Gangtok today.
The CPA India Region consists of Nine zones containing 31 Legislatures of the country. Sikkim belongs to the CPA India Zone 3 region which has eight members- Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura.
Upon their arrival, the delegates were accorded a warm welcome by Speaker Sikkim Legislative Assembly (SLA) Mr Mingma Norbu Sherpa, Deputy Speaker SLA Ms Raj Kumari Thapa, Secretary Sikkim Legislative Assembly (SLA) Mr Lalit Kumar Gurung, Principal Director SLA Mr Karma T Gyatso Bhutia, and Officials of SLA.
The list of delegates who arrived today representing CPA India Region Zone 3 were Speaker Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Mr Tesam Pongtae, Speaker Assam Legislative Assembly Mr Biswajit Daimary, Deputy Speaker Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Mr Timothy D Shira, Speaker Mizoram Legislative Assembly Mr Lalbaikzama, Deputy Speaker Mizoram Legislative Assembly Mr Lalfamkimi, Speaker Nagaland Legislative Assembly-cum-Chairman CPA Mr Sharingain Longkumer, Deputy Speaker Nagaland Legislative Assembly Mr S Toiho Yeptho, Speaker Tripura Legislative Assembly Mr Biswa Bandhu Sen, Deputy Speaker Tripura Legislative Assembly Mr Ram Prasad Paul and Secretary Manipur Legislative Assembly Mr Rohit Sapam. It maybe noted that Secretaries and Officers of respective Legislatures also arrived today on the capital alongwith the diginitaries.
The Executive Committee of CPA India Region Zone 3 are on their three day official tour of Sikkim from April 2 to April 5, 2025, wherein they will conduct various meetings to discuss development plans for the region.
