DWSM meeting reviews the status of Jal Jeevan Mission in Pakyong District

Pakyong, March 12 (IPR): District Collector, Pakyong, Mr Rohan Agawane chaired the District Water and Sanitation Monitoring Committee (DWSM) meeting at the conference hall of District Administrative Centre (DAC), Pakyong, today.
The meeting reviewed the status of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district and deliberated on issues related to ensuring the supply of safe and adequate drinking water to households.
During the meeting, the District Collector sought updates on the block-wise status of the Jal Jeevan Mission, covering infrastructure development, household tap connections, water supply issues, tank development, manpower availability, and other implementation challenges.
Discussions also focused on the mobilisation of barefoot engineers across Gram Panchayat Units (GPUs) to support maintenance and repair works, particularly during periods of water shortage.
The District Collector further emphasised the need for coordination among GPUs in the development and management of water sources and discussed measures related to monitoring water usage and distribution.
