DLMC conducts its bi-monthly inspection at GI Hydro Private Limited, Rongli

Pakyong, December 03 (IPR): The District Level Monitoring Committee of Pakyong District, led by Mr Sangay Gyatso Bhutia, ADC Pakyong, carried out its bi-monthly inspection at GI Hydro Private Limited at Rongli today.
The purpose of the inspection was to evaluate the effectiveness and identify potential hazards at the hydropower sites, assessing the safety mechanisms and suggesting precautions to enhance the protection of the public.
The inspection team comprised of Mr Gyampo Bhutia, SE Power Department; Mr NB Biswakarma, SDM Rongli; Mr Sonam Zangpo Bhutia, DPO Zilla; Mr Santosh Bagdas, ACF (T) Pakyong; Mr Raj Kumar Nirola, AE Water Resources Department along with officials from various line departments and GI Hydro Private Limited.
The team visited the plant and dam sites, evaluating the safety measures, inspecting the control room and ensuring that all systems are functioning properly. Additionally, they evaluated the placement and visibility of warning signs in the tailrace areas, verifying both the visible and audible alerts to ensure they effectively communicated potential hazards.
Further, the team also checked the fire protection system and reviewed the procedures and readiness for rescue operations.
During the inspection, ADC Pakyong enquired about the functionality of the machines and their working process, ensuring that the safety measures were being implemented correctly. He then underscored the importance of implementing clearer signage across various regions to enhance safety measures.
In addition, the officials of GI Hydro Private Limited also gave insights into the technical aspects of the project, engineering processes, and the advanced technologies employed to ensure efficiency and sustainability.
Further, the committee also took the opportunity to evaluate the actions carried out following the last inspection, identifying potential areas for further improvement.
