Gangtok, August 25 (IPR): District Election Officer-cum-District Collector, Gangtok, Mr Rohan Agawane, conducted 41 appeal hearings at his chamber at the District Administrative Centre (DAC), Gangtok, today, as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls 2026.
The appeal hearings were conducted at the DEO level for cases arising under the Claims and Objections process.
The Assembly Constituency-wise details of the appeal hearings are as follows:
* 16-Tumen-Lingi: 2 hearings
* 17-Khamdong-Singtam: 1 hearing
* 23-Shyari: No hearings conducted
* 24-Martam-Rumtek: 15 hearings
* 25-Upper Tadong: No hearings conducted
* 26-Arithang: 3 hearings
* 27-Gangtok: 3 hearings
* 28-Upper Burtuk: 17 hearings
* 32-Sangha: No hearings conducted
The hearings form part of the ongoing electoral roll revision process under SIR 2026, facilitating the examination of appeals related to the electoral roll.
