DEO Gyalshing chairs meeting with representatives of political parties under Gyalshing District
Gyalshing, March 20 (IPR): A meeting of District Election Officer-Cum-DC Gyalshing with the representatives of the Political Parties of the district was held at the Office of District Collector Gyalshing,today.
Mr Tenzing D Denzongpa District Election Officer / District Collector Gyalshing chaired the meeting that had participation of Mr Sandesh Subba SDM Gyalshing/ ERO AC, Ms Kadem Bhutia OS Election Department Gyalshing and representatives from political parties functioning under Gyalshing District.
The primary agenda of the meeting was to have a comprehensive discussion on the Representation of People Act, 1950 and 1951, Registration of Election Rules, 1960, Conduct of Election Rules 1961, Orders of Hon'ble Supreme Court, Instruction,Manuals and Handbook issued by Election Commission of India and, The Citizenship Act 1955, in Gyalshing district.
In the meeting, DEO Gyalshing assured representatives of the political parties of the district on addressing the emerged issues that are found to be breaching the guidelines of ECI in prompt and stringent approach.
DEO Gyalshing motivated representatives to work collectively toward viable solution of the emerged issues and stressed on appropriate adherence to mandated guidelines of the ECI.
Political Party representatives of the district raised their concerns and queries in the meeting to which, DEO Gyalshing assured on the prompt intervention and addressal within statutory framework of ECI.
The meeting emphasised on BLOs inculcating courteous approach with electors while also ensuring that no electoral staff or officer is intimidated by false claims.
