DC Soreng Chairs Coordination Meeting to Strengthen LPG Supply Management
Soreng, March 31 (IPR): The District Collector Soreng, Mr Dhiraj Subedi, chaired a coordination meeting today at the District Administrative Centre, to review and streamline the supply and distribution of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) across the district.
The house discussed various aspects related to LPG supply management, including transportation and distribution mechanisms, with a focus on enhancing efficiency and ensuring timely availability to consumers. Representatives from local distributors were directed to strengthen coordination and maintain regular supply schedules. Emphasis was also laid on prompt redressal of public grievances. The District Collector directed all shop owners to refrain from stockpiling LPG, highlighting the importance of equitable distribution. Local distributors were instructed to issue LPG strictly against valid LPG passbooks to ensure transparency and accountability.
Reassuring the public, the DC stated that the current measures are part of a proactive and long-term strategy to strengthen the supply system. Block Development Officers (BDOs) were directed to conduct awareness drives through Gram Sabhas and other outreach programmes to keep the public informed. The DC further informed that a District Control Room has been established to closely monitor and regulate LPG distribution across the district.
Additionally, the Superintendent of Police (Soreng), Mr Nahkul Pradhan, appealed to all stakeholders to maintain calm and avoid spreading unverified information. He cautioned against misinformation and stated that the Information and Public Relations Department, Soreng, in coordination with the District Cyber Cell, will actively monitor such instances. The Police Department assured full support in maintaining order and public confidence.

DCSO (Soreng) Mr JM Subba also shared key suggestions, including the implementation of a structured route plan for LPG distribution, informing that designated areas have already been identified to facilitate systematic delivery.
The meeting concluded with comprehensive deliberations and a collective commitment to further strengthen LPG supply mechanisms and ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
